Online Safety is an important part of keeping children safe at Hill West Primary School. We have extensive security measures in place in school, which are monitored both internally and externally, to help safeguard pupils from potential dangers or unsuitable material. Any e-safety incidents are recorded and managed. At Hill West, we have developed a whole school progressive learning journey for Online Safety which is embedded not only in our Computing learning journey but also our Personal Development and Well-being. Online safety is taught to all pupils from reception through to year 6, ensuring that all children know how to stay safe and behave appropriately online.

We take the issue of online safety very seriously, and our own procedures and policies are reviewed annually. If you want to contact us regarding any Online Saftey issues, you can either print the ONLINE INCIDENT REPORT FORM or make an appointment to see someone at the school office or email us: This email address is being protected from spambots. During 2020 we have been working alongside National Online Safety to become accredited as a National Online School (accreditation coming soon). Staff receive up to date training annually to ensure we are keeping our children as safe as possible. We also work in partnership with parents to keep children safe online. To further support our children we provide comprehensive online safety training courses to parents too.

The best way to keep your child safe when using the internet is to talk to them and make sure they understand a few simple rules which can be found in our online safety policy.

We believe that it is important that parents speak to their children about how they can keep safe and behave appropriately online. The information below will support you during some of those conversations to help you make informed decisions about what your child accesses. Please let the school know if you aren’t regularly receiving the online safety guides via email.
